There are a lot of web-based email service providers that you can resort to, but using an email account with your own domain will provide you with more credibility if you are running a company, for instance, not to mention that with web-based email services there are limitations on the size of the attachments that you can receive or send. In case you use an email service that supports the POP3 and IMAP email delivery protocols, you won’t come across such problems and you’ll be able to use any software program on your personal computer to check your emails, including Outlook, Thunderbird or Apple Mail. You can even set up an email account on your mobile device. The difference between the two protocols is that with IMAP, an email message is displayed locally at your end, but remains on the server, while with POP3, the message is downloaded on your computer, unless you configure the program in such a way as to keep a copy on the server.
POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Cloud Hosting
Each cloud hosting package that we offer will allow you to create mailboxes with any domain hosted under your account and to set them up on any device. During the setup procedure, you can pick between the IMAP and the POP3 protocols, as we offer support for both, so you can choose which one to rely on according to your preferences and the purpose of the account – you may choose to download all emails in case you have a personal account and to store the messages on the server – if you have a business account, for example. The Email Manager, which is part of our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel, enables you to download and run a small-sized file, so as to set up an email account with an email application – Apple Mail, Thunderbird or Outlook. You can even use your phone to view your emails and we’ve got an in-depth tutorial on how to do this on an iPhone or an Android phone.
